Questions

Use the filters to locate a question

To filter the list of questions, use the following fields at the top of the screen:

Categories drop-down - use this to select the categories (as defined on the Categories screen with a type of 'Questions and Targets') to display
Search all categories - use this field to enter the name of the relevant category or question name. The search is carried out across all categories. The list is updated immediately.

Add or edit a question

To add or edit a question:

Select the Create question button to add a question.

Alternatively, select the ⋮ drop-down menu of the relevant record and then select the Edit option.

Important.You can use the search field to locate a specific question, if required.

The question editor is displayed.
Enter or edit the relevant details in the Edit questions panel.

Important.Changes are reflected immediately in the main section of the screen.

The fields on the Edit questions panel are described in the following table.

1. Question details	Question	The question that will be displayed to the learner or staff member. This can be up to 800 characters long. Important.This must be unique.
	Question applicable to	Whether the question is applicable to learners, staff members, or both.
	Category	The category to which the question belongs. These are defined on the Categories screen with a type of 'Questions and Targets'. Important.If the category does not exist, you can select the Add new category button to create a new one. It will then be stored on the Categories screen.
	Tags	Any keywords that you want to associate with the question. These can be used for searching, sorting, or analytics as required. Enter the tag name and hit the enter key to add it. If the tag already exists, a drop-down will appear after you start typing where you can select it.
	Mandatory	Whether it is mandatory for the question to be answered.
2. Answers	Choose interaction type	The type of answer that you want the learner or staff to input. By default, standard values of text, date, number or times can be entered, but you can select from the list of answers defined on the Answers screen if required. Important.If the answer does not exist, you can select the Add new button to create a new one. Ensure to select it after adding. Once added, it will be stored on the Answers screen.
3. Interaction	N/A	The input type of the answer. Do one of the following: If Standard Values was selected from the 2. Answers panel, select whether the type of input should be text, a date, a number or a time. If a custom set of values was selected, the default interaction type is selected automatically. Select another interaction type if required. Important.This will not change the default interaction type on the Answers screen. It will only change it for this instance.
4. Properties	N/A	The properties of the relevant interaction. Select from the following: Date interaction type: Don't allow dates in the past - prevents learners selecting dates in the past (where the current date is the date the review is released to a learner) Min Date - learners can only select dates after the specified date (where the current date is the date the review is released to a learner) Max Date - learners can only select dates before the specified date (where the current date is the date the review is released to a learner) Important.You must complete both date fields when the question is mandatory. You can complete either or both date fields when the question is non-mandatory. Number interaction type: Min number Max number Text interaction type: Min characters Example answer text Time interaction type: Min time Max time Important.The Min Time value cannot be greater than the Max Time value. Date Range interaction type Min date Max date Time Range interaction type: Min time Max time Important.The Min Time value cannot be greater than the Max Time value.

Select Save .

Activate or deactivate a question

Questions can be made inactive if they are no longer in use. Inactive questions are displayed in grey, provided the Include Inactive toggle is selected.

A question that is made inactive will not be available to be selected for future use, but if it is already in use, it will be unaffected and can continue to be used.

To activate or deactivate a question:

Use the filters to locate the relevant question, if required.
Ensure the Include Inactive toggle is selected if you want to activate an inactive question.
Select the ⋮ drop-down menu of the relevant record and then select the Mark Active or Mark Inactive option, as required.

Delete a question

You can only delete a question if it is not associated with any ILPs.

To delete a question:

Use the filters to locate the relevant question, if required.
Ensure the Include Inactive toggle is selected if you want to delete an inactive question.
Select the ⋮ drop-down menu of the relevant record and then select the Delete option.

Important.This is not displayed if the question is associated with ILPs.

A confirmation message is displayed.
